This is a vertical view over one of the many communities built around a golf course in Palm Springs. Palm Springs has over 100 golf courses in an area around 10 square miles. All water to enable this kind of grass and plant growth in a desert area has to be brought in by canals that link into the Colorado River. If you look closely at the houses you get the impression that they are individually designed but if you look even more closely you will see that there are only about 5 or 6 designs and then these designs are reversed or mirrored.

Windfarm North of Palm Springs
This has to be one of the hardest aerial pictures I have taken. Not because of the subject matter but well…. where do they put windfarms? In very windy areas right? There was about a 50mph head wind that was really making things difficult for the pilot and an awful lot of turbulence making it very difficult to level the camera and get anything you had intended on. However, as you can see I did manage and get a few shots. After passing over the farm I asked the pilot if he could make the same run again. A very strong “No” came my way. Well it was worth a try.
