Flying over Boston is always fun and interesting. With Boston’s historical landscape as well as its unorthodox layout based on old cow paths it makes for some interesting images not possible in more modern cities. This shot was taken while flying over Boston Common and shows Boston from the public gardens to the back Bay and beyond. It was a sunny day but I was lucky to get a little cloud to soften the shadows. This has become one of my favorite shots of the Boston skyline. It can be difficult to get shots such as these. Not because of any technical difficulty but because of the proximity to Logan airport. Depending on the weather, different runways may be in use that effect the flight path of approaching aircraft but usually if you stay below 2000 feet the impact is minimal. Air Traffic Control closely monitors your activity and can get pushy if you linger too long.
